Targeting Cancer website shortlisted for 2016 Sydney Design Awards

21 Jul 2016

We are very excited to announce that the Targeting Cancer campaign website designed by Butterfly has been recognised for its web design and shortlisted for the prestigious Sydney Design Awards in the Digital EdTech category.

The EdTech category focuses on how technology is changing education and transforming the way we learn and process information.

The Targeting Cancer campaign aims to increase awareness and educate the wider community about radiation therapy as an effective, safe and sophisticated treatment for cancer. It is designed to reach people with cancer and their loved ones to improve their knowledge with easy to understand information around the procedures, benefits and possible side effects. It also aims to update health professionals (especially GPs) to assist their patients and to locate the closest treatment centre.

1 in 2 cancer patients would benefit from radiation therapy at some time during their cancer experience. However, less than 1 in 3 patients in Australia and New Zealand will actually receive radiation therapy. The Targeting Cancer website is modern and user friendly and is intended as an educational resource tool, designed to meet the needs of both the community and health professionals, in particular general practitioners.

The website is a rich source of information about radiation therapy, different cancer types and treatment journey videos. It also contains an interactive treatment centre map and a dedicated health professionals portal which offers GP focused education resources and advice on how to refer to a radiation oncologist.

We would like to acknowledge and thank everyone who has contributed to the design and content of the website.
