Sandra’s Story

Associate Professor Sandra Turner is a Radiation Oncologist with 20 years’ experience. As the medical specialist in the radiation oncology team, it’s her job to assess patients with cancer, discuss radiation therapy and other options, develop a treatment plan and oversee it. She looks after patients long after their treatment is over.

“Radiation therapy is a very effective form of cancer treatment that delivers highly targeted radiation to a tumour or to cancerous cells that might have been left behind following other forms of treatment.”

In her work, Associate Professor Turner also uses radiation therapy as a very effective way of relieving pain and other symptoms associated with cancer.
