Join Us at the 2025 Targeting Cancer Fun Run – A Celebration of Radiation Therapy and Community

We are excited to announce that the 2025 Targeting Cancer Fun Run will once again be held at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists’ Annual Scientific Meeting (RANZCR ASM), to be held in Melbourne on Saturday 25 October 2025.

This is more than just a run. It’s an opportunity for health professionals, patients, carers, researchers, and the public to come together, show support for radiation therapy as a safe, effective, and cutting-edge cancer treatment, and to raise awareness of the vital work done every day in cancer care and research.

Why this event matters

  • Raising awareness: Radiation therapy is under‐recognised despite being a cornerstone of cancer treatment. The Fun Run helps highlight its role in saving lives, improving outcomes, and enhancing quality of life for people with cancer.
  • Building community: By bringing together clinicians (radiation oncologists, clinical radiologists), trainees, health workers, consumers, sponsors, and others, we strengthen the network of those committed to better cancer care and research.
  • Advocacy and visibility: The ASM is attended by thousands of professionals across radiology and oncology. The Fun Run offers a visible platform to amplify what Targeting Cancer stands for, to engage with media, partners, funders, and the broader public.
  • Wellbeing and connection: Getting up early, sharing a walk or run through beautiful Melbourne, starting the day with fresh air and camaraderie. They remind us that cancer care is human, not just clinical and research‐driven.
