Indigenous and
Māori Care
This is partly because Māori, Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander people often experience delays or barriers in receiving essential radiation therapy. This can impact their cancer treatment outcomes and overall health.
Targeting Cancer supports Māori, Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander people living with cancer by promoting culturally sensitive and equitable access to radiation therapy and highlighting disparities and challenges they face in accessing timely and equitable radiation treatment.
This is where you can read the stories of Māori, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living with cancer or working in cancer care and learn how Targeting Cancer is working to close the gap to radiation therapy.
The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) is committed to supporting the professions of clinical radiology and radiation oncology to contribute to equitable health outcomes for Māori, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
