Celebrating World Cancer Day 2025: ‘United by Unique’

World Cancer Day 2025 - United by unique

“As healthcare professionals, we recognise the deeply personal nature of every cancer journey and our role in delivering compassionate, people-centred care”.

This year’s World Cancer Day, themed “United by Unique,” celebrates the unique stories of those facing cancer and those who stand by them. As healthcare professionals, we recognise the deeply personal nature of every cancer journey and our role in delivering compassionate, people-centred care.

The “United by Unique” campaign shines a light on the individual experiences of cancer patients, their families, and caregivers. It calls for a collective effort to see beyond the disease, focusing on the unique needs and stories of each patient. RANZCR is committed to enhancing radiation oncology, ensuring that all patients receive the best possible care, tailored to their specific circumstances.
Radiation therapy plays a crucial role in the fight against cancer. Targeting Cancer aims to raise awareness about its benefits, as it contributes to curing more than half of cancer cases and significantly improving the quality of life for many. By working together, we can help our patients navigate their unique journeys with resilience, strength, and hope.

In honour of World Cancer Day, we are privileged to share the inspiring story of Edwina, a courageous cancer survivor. Her journey is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of hope. Through her words and experiences, Edwina offers a beacon of strength to all those affected by cancer.

In this video, we delve into Edwina’s story, celebrating her triumphs and acknowledging the challenges she has faced. Her experience not only highlights the importance of early detection and treatment but also reiterates the critical role of support systems in the fight against cancer.

We hope Edwina’s story will inspire and empower others facing similar challenges and build a sense of community and solidarity as we continue to strive for better patient outcomes.
