Abdallah’s story

My name is Abdallah Tabbaa, I was born in Nigeria in 1950. I arrived in Australia 5th February 1973.

I was diagnosed with cancer when I was 45 years old. I have battled 4 of the greatest cancers in the world for over 20 years. Now, multiple myeloma.

Recently I had radiation for my bone pain, I was only there for a few minutes and then walked out with no pain. It used to take me 20 minutes to get off the bed, now it takes me less than a second. I have had no problems after that one session of radiotherapy.

I recommend it to anyone. I am now able to come back here and do things for these children.

I decided to build the Australian National Sports Club about 4 years ago, I wanted to do something for the people here. To get the kids off the street, doing something constructive instead of destructive. You used to hear about the gangs here, you don’t hear that now.

Everyone is welcome here, on one condition that when you are here you respect others no matter where they come from.
